Meet Our Team

Our Board of Directors is made up of a diverse group of individuals throughout the county.  Each board member is elected to a six-year term at the CCFB fall meeting.  Any member in good standing can be nominated and voted in as a member of the board.  The CCFB board meets once a month.  Any member in good standing is welcome to attend, visit our Calendar for more information.

The CCFB holds general business meetings quarterly where planning, discussion, and implementation of activities and action are decided according to our mission statement.

Richard Muir

Picture

President

Muir Family Farm
Atlantic, Pa
In 2004, Richard quit his career as a tool and die maker to start farming full-time.  He runs a cow-calf and finishing hog operation, and also grows corn, oats, and hay.  Rich began farming as a hobby with 13 acres forty years ago, but today owns 150 acres and rents an addition 100.  He and his wife, Debbie, have two children, Scott and Christine.  Rich is also a township supervisor, and a member of the American Legion and the Fallowfield United Methodist Church.  Rich attributes his involvement with the CCFB to the opportunity of being part of the legislative process and is involved with both the CCFB state and national legislative committees.

Robert Waddell

Vice President

Apple Shamrock Dairy Farms, LLC
Townville, Pa
Rob owns and operates Apple Shamrock Dairy Farms with his wife, Christine, and son, Josh.  Apple Shamrock is a 2,000-acre farm milking 1,000 cows and raising 875 replacement heifers. They also grow corn, soybeans and orchard grass.  The Waddells know that educating the public is important, and Rob often opens their farm to schools and other groups for tours. Rob and his family are key members of the agricultural community, serving on numerous county and statewide boards.

John Kunz

Picture

Vice President

Dolly Run Farm
Centerville, Pa
Though John and his wife, Cindi, are “semi-retired,” they enjoy working with the 60+ head of Guernsey, Jersey, Brown Swiss, Holstein, and other crossbred dairy cattle that call Dolly Run Farm home. They especially look forward to the Crawford County Fair, where Dolly Run Farm has shown every year for over sixty years.  Farming is a family affair for John and Cindi; Dolly Run has been family owned and operated for over 100 years and their son, Chad, and his wife, Kristi, have taken over the farm.

Scott Preston

Picture

Director

Dale Preston Farms
Titusville, Pa
Like many farmers, Scott's ties to agriculture are strong. His father signed the family farm over to him while he was still attending high school.  Since then, Scott has been recognized with the Crawford County FFA Star Farmer award, FFA Keystone Farmer award, and FFA American Farmer award.  Scott's son, Dale, has taken over the responsibilities of the farm.  But, Scott visits daily and helps out where he can.  He is enjoying retirement and loves spending time with his wife Lila.  Scott is involved with the Crawford County Conservation board, Land Preservation board, International Lions Club, and his church.

Catherine Vorisek

Picture

Director

Vorisek's Backyard Bee Farm
Linesville, Pa

Cathy, affectionately named ‘The Bee Lady,’ got her start in agriculture when her husband, Charlie, and their daughter attended a beekeeping class for an FFA project. Needless to say, they came back stung.  Today, Cathy and Charlie operate Vorisek’s Backyard Bee Farm, an apiary that keeps over twelve million bees. She loves to educate people on the importance of honeybees and is a teacher with PFB’s Mobile Ag Science Lab.  Cathy is also a substitute teacher in Erie and Crawford counties and organizes the Fair Detective program at the Crawford County Fair.

Maxine Bookamer

Director

Bookamer Drilling & Family Farm
Meadville, Pa

Being 26, Max is the youngest member of the CCFB Board and was named the CCFB VIP in 2013. She has lived on her family’s farm her whole life and is passionate about the many species of animals that Bookamer Farm cares for. Max has a love of Farm Bureau, she served as the county Young Farmer & Rancher Chairman for many years. When asked what she thought of the CCFB Max said, “I would greatly encourage anyone with an agriculture background, or enthusiasm for the field of agriculture, to join Farm Bureau. It is a wonderful grassroots organization to be involved with and make a difference.”

Dolly Run Farm
Centerville, Pa
Cindi and her husband, John, are “semi-retired,” but they still enjoy working with the 60+ head of Guernsey, Jersey, Brown Swiss, Holstein, and other crossbred dairy cattle that call Dolly Run Farm home. Guernsey blood runs deep in Cindi’s family, her father exhibited the very first Grand Champion Guernsey at the very first Crawford County Fair.  Cindi is the current CCFB Secretary/Treasurer. She also represents District 14 (Crawford, Warren, Erie counties) and is the Secretary for the PFB Women’s Leadership Committee.  Cindi is very involved in the community and passionately volunteers her time to her church, Titusville Relay for Life, and the County Dairy Princess program.
