Our members take their commitment to our mission seriously. Regardless of the subject of interest or level of skillset, the CCFB provides an opportunity to get involved and make a difference.
State Legislative CommitteePennsylvania Farm Bureau has set its sights on several areas critical to the success of farm families. As part of the CCFB State Legislative Committee, you have the ability to influence legislation by meeting with state house and senate members to advocate for the Farm Bureau message which is dictated collectively by county Farm Bureaus across the state. Women's Leadership CommitteeMore women are needed in every aspect of the Farm Bureau organization. This includes being a spokespersons for agriculture, working on project teams, coordinating programs, contacting legislators and teachers, making decisions on county and state boards, and so on. We can find an activity to match your interest and personal skills.
Leadership development opportunities include one-on-one coaching, public speaking training, networking at the leadership conference, committee training, and hands-on experience. |
Agriculture Promotion CommitteeThe Agriculture Promotion Committee's focus is education. However, involvement is not limited to just classrooms. Together, members of the committee organize events such as Rural Road Safety Day, Ag Literacy Week, Farm Safety Day, and also attend many other events to talk to the public about the farm community on behalf of the CCFB.
Committee members also manage all social media outlets as well as the CCFB website. |
Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee (YF&R)The YF&Rs include both men and women between the ages of 18-35. The objective of the committee is to provide leadership to build the CCFB and expand opportunities for young professionals in agriculture.
YF&R members are also invited to compete in five state level contests during PFB's annual meeting: Achievement Award, Excellence in Agriculture, Discussion Meet and Social Media Video, and the Collegiate Discussion Meet. The state winners of these contests receive an expense paid trip to AFBF’s National Annual Convention to participate in the National Level Contests. National contest winners receive prizes, including but not limited to: 1-yr lease of GM truck, extended use of CASE IH tractor, STHIL prize pack and much more. |
